Malta launches a public tender to procure PEPPOL services

On 18 March 2021, the Maltese government has launched a tender to establish an agreement for the provision of PEPPOL services as part of the activities of the eInvoicing4Islands project.

The project objective is to foster the uptake of e-Invoicing services compliant with the European standard for eInvoicing in Malta, Sicily and Ireland, using the PEPPOL framework to ensure interoperability.

In facilitating compliance with the European Directive 2014/55/EU on eInvoicing in public procurement and the national eInvoicing approach, the Ministry for Finance and Employment is seeking to procure PEPPOL Networking and eInvoicing Services, so as to enable all Government Departments, Local Councils, Regional Authorities and Government Entities to meet their obligations as required by the Directive.

The procurement documents are available for unrestricted and full direct access, free of charge at https://www.etenders.gov.mt/epps/cft/prepareViewCfTWS.do?resourceId=7451006

The procurement of PEPPOL services represents a key milestone in the project activities to support the roll-out of eInvoicing in Malta, and to kick start interoperability testing with the PEPPOL Access Points established by the Sicilian Region and the Irish National Shared Services Office.
